Certain parts of the nervous system become “wound up” and dysfunctional in a persistent pain state.

Yoga, meditation, deep breathing and relaxation can help to calm the nervous system and return it to a healthy state. In this class, a yoga instructor will cover simple breathing and relaxation techniques that can be performed daily as part of a self-treatment program.

Have you Scheduled your Child’s Annual Teen Screen?

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends one of these important “check-ups” occur every year through age 18. The providers at all Mid-Columbia Outpatient Clinic locations would like to remind parents of the importance of having their teens seen regularly by a medical provider.

A Teen Screen ensures that your child is healthy and allows his or her provider to identify issues that might get in the way of good health in their future. Parents are welcome to accompany their teens to this appointment, but should be aware that most providers will want to meet alone with the teen for a portion of the exam.
